Yoro Valley, located in Otaki Town, Chiba Prefecture, is a scenic spot where you can enjoy a wide variety of waterfalls and beautiful mountain streams.
It is a bit far away from Tokyo, but that is how beautiful nature can be found there.

What makes Yoro Valley attractive
The most attractive points of Yoro Valley are the various beautiful waterfalls and the promenade along the mountain stream, where visitors can refresh themselves.
Awamata Falls appears about 10 minutes after descending stairs from the entrance of the promenade. The waterfall, which flows down gently for about 100 meters, has a different charm from the roaring sound of a plunge.

The second waterfall that comes into view as you follow the path is Chiyo Falls.
The promenade is well maintained and recommended for those who are not confident in their physical strength. There are several benches set up, but if you get tired, you can sit down along the mountain stream and take a break.
Just walking leisurely while enjoying the scenery is a great experience.
The third waterfall that comes into view is Bandai Falls. The water flows to the promenade side, but you can walk to the waterfall basin.
The trail originally continued on to the road, but as of July 2022, it was closed to traffic. We had no choice but to turn around here.
It took me about one hour to reach this point because I walked slowly, but the distance was probably only about 2 km, so I did not feel so fatigued.
Restaurants and Resting Places
Restrooms are located near the Awamatanotaki bus stop.
There are few restaurants in the area, so we recommend using the restaurants in front of Yoro Keikoku Station or the restaurants on the way from the station to Awamata Falls.
I had vegetable soba (buckwheat noodles) at “Asahiya,” a restaurant near the station. The owner of the restaurant runs the place by himself, so if you are in a hurry, you may want to try another restaurant.
Nearby Sightseeing Spots
There is a hot spring and a fishing pond center near to the falls. If you take the train toward Ohara, you can see the beautiful ocean.
Enjoy the great outdoors on the first day and relax on the beach on the second day.
Location
It takes about 2 hours from Tokyo station to the nearest station, Yoro Keikoku station, via JR Sobu Rapid Line, Uchibo Line and Kominato Railway.
The valley is accessible by bus. You can take the bus bound for Kurimata or Goriyaku-no-yu, and get off at the “Kurimata-no-taki” stop.
