Ranzan Valley|Beautiful nature and unique man-made structures

Ranzan Valley is located in western Saitama Prefecture and is an exquisite combination of beautiful nature.

Let’s take a look at the highlights of Ranzan Valley!

What makes Kawana Beach attractive

The most attractive feature is the beauty of its valley. The contrast between the stone pavement, clear stream, and trees is breathtakingly beautiful and seems to purify our mind naturally.

Sitting on the rocks and listening to the clear stream, you will be drawn into a world of another dimension. Some of the valleyes are so far and may have to walk for hours to reach them. But you don’t have to worry about that here.

You can cross the river by stepping stones along the way (*The path is impassable when the water level is high, but a detour route is available), and enjoy the view of the valley from the observation deck.

It takes about 30 minutes from the bus stop to the stone pavement, and if you have enough stamina, you may want to extend your walk to the summit of Mt.Ohira.

The number of visitors increases from late November to early December when the autumn leaves are at their best, but you will be able to see beautiful scenery no matter when you visit.

Restaurants and Resting Places

There is a barbecue area along the valley and a café/restaurant called “Owl’s Forest”. It offers a lunch menu including hamburgers, curry rice, garlic shrimp, etc., as well as shaved ice during the summer season.

Drinks are available at the barbecue area, but foods are served only at this facility, so we recommend that you shop in advance.

Restrooms are located at the barbecue area and the observation deck in the valley.

Nearby Sightseeing Spots

Ranzan valley and its surrounding area offers beautiful flowers from spring to summer, such as Toyama Jubonzakura cherry blossoms, rape blossom fields, and lavender gardens.

In autumn, visitors can enjoy viewing the autumn leaves in the valley. If you continue along the promenade, you can also access the summit of Mt. Ohiradai. Ranzan town is also famous as a habitat for Japan’s national butterfly, the Oomurasaki.

Why not visit Ranzan to enjoy nature in each of the four seasons?

Location

Take the Tobu Tojo Line from Ikebukuro Station to Musashi-arashiyama Station, which is about an hour away.

From there, it is approximately 3 km to the starting point of the valley, “Ranzan Valley Barbecue Area,” which takes about 10 minutes by bus or 30 minutes on foot.

The nearest bus stop is “Kyusoku-chi-iriguchi,” and buses depart every hour or two, so be sure to check the return time. If the weather is good, we recommend walking.
